Public opinion, democratic cultural policy, and legitimacy

To improve the analysis of the findings of the program’s main avenues of research, this research line explores the relationship between public opinion and legitimacy in line with the themes of human rights, violence, and public security and their impacts on democracy. The empirical interest lies beyond an analysis of the classic mechanisms of public opinion formation and the perceived legitimacy of democratic institutions. This study will be developed by mapping social media, case studies, and discourse analysis.
